Ok, yet another late post. Haha.. I should learn to keep my timings.. so anyway, had a ‘Wii day’ last Saturday.. have to admit, I’m quite tempted to get me one of those things. Heh.. the Wii sorta redefines how games are played.. it redefines User-Interaction. =)

Here’s another Linux update, managed to get Compiz to work on my notebook. So now I have some cool 3D desktop graphics.. the kinda stuff you’ll prob find on a Mac or Vista, but the catch is, it doesn’t put a strain. Both on your pocket (linux is free!) and on ur resources.. I’m running a CoreDuo 1.6 with 1Gb ram.. and I have no difficulty using all the 3D stuff, but if I were to attempt to install Vista with my current notebook, I’d prob just die or something.. vista’s a resource hogger.. we all know that.

Below: That’s what happens when you do the Alt-Tab thing.. you scroll through the different videos.. waaaay cool. And it’s all real time, so if a video’s playing, you’ll still see it playing while you scroll around..

Ok, so it isn’t exactly new anymore.. it’s actually coming to a year-and-a-half old. This post will adequately let you know what I did with a bottle that I got from one of those goody bag things in school last time.. personalized it and it has served me well.. =)
So as of late, it’s been peeling.. no, not that black star that I’ve painted on, but rather the yellow parts of the bottle.. didn’t get to take a picture of it though. Jumped right into trying to fix it.. so well, after loads of procrastination and yellow paint flakes all over my bag, I finally got down to sorting out my bottle..

Not much materials needed this time I guess.. you prob just need sandpaper and LOADS of patience.. oh, arm/finger-power helps too.. heh. Now all I need is just to find a new design to cover over my bottle, suggestions? ..so for now it’ll prob stay naked. =P
This would pretty much be a follow up from the previous post. Right, so I’ve recently been into the whole COD4 thing once again, and since that day, I’ve been wanting to play the multiplayer mode. Not just the Single Player missions.. but the multiplayer rounds. =)
This would be possible, like in CounterStrike, with the use of bots. And I’m proud to say, I’ve found them! *everyone goes YAY* Took quite a while to dig, and even more time to troubleshoot.. but it was perhaps worth it.. so here’s how and what to do to get them running..
Firstly, you ought to patch the current version to 1.6. I’m not exactly sure what’ll happen if you use anything above 1.6 (does it even exist?), but anything below 1.6 and the ranks won’t really work. In other words, in the game, you’ll earn points and might even be promoted, but these promotions won’t stay, instead, the next round/map you play.. you’re back to square one; trying to get a rank of ‘Private’. Needless to say, the Perks and Weapon upgrades won’t work either, so please.. do patch to version 1.6. The patch file for 1.6 is quite big, approx 280mb, so I’m not gonna even try to host it, instead here’s the link to get it from elsewhere in cyberspace. And since it’s so big, you might wanna try this nifty little program to help you expand ur download bandwidth.. =)
Next, you’ll need the bots themselves.. this one is just a small zip file with a pretty much self-explanatory readme file.. You can get PeZBOTS (that’s their name by the way) here.
With that you ought to be able to blast ur way thru the multiplayer maps with the bots, and unlock the perks and weapons gradually.. have fun!
..For the few disorientated folks who did not purchase Call of Duty 4 but have somehow managed to own a copy of it *cough*, after patching it to version 1.6, you might have some difficulty starting the Single Player mode (something about ‘inserting the correct DVD’).. this file might help. If you don’t know what I’m referring to, then just ignore this. =)

18 bands, 2 whole days.. 20 hours of LIVE music.. all happening at Fort Canning Green on 2-3 Aug. Featuring bands like Simple Plan, Lost Prophets, Travis, Melee, Jamie Scott, Jason Mraz, Rick Astley, One Republic, Stacie Orrico, Alicia Keys and many more..
I so wanna go for it, especially for Sunday’s line-up. The only downside to it (as always), is the cost. $150 for Saturday’s slot and $200 for Sunday’s slot. $300 for the weekend pass.. *faint* It’s so ex la! Even for 10 hours of live music, featuring so many darn good bands/musicians.. it’s still quite pricey. And it doesn’t help that school starts the very next day.. urgh. I think the last time I was at a gig at Fort Canning Green must have been in ’98 watching All Star United’s gig.. goodness.. that’s 10 years ago! Hmm.. maybe I should go back.. make it a decade affair.. haha.

Met alvin and siwei (and some of his friends) yesterday and we re-lived the old days at a LAN shop. I just realized, it must be years since I last stepped into a LAN shop and had that much fun. I almost forgot how it felt.. haha.. the crazy days where we’d sit at paradiz with a cup of bubble tea.. HA!
I’ve tried Call Of Duty 4 for some time now, and I have to say it’s really good. It puts the action and suspense into the game and they’ve managed to capture the essence of it all really well. Camouflage is REALLY camouflage.. Taking Cover is REALLY Taking Cover.. for those who’ve yet to try it, I’d really recommend it.. it probably redefines the whole gaming industry.. in terms of gameplay and graphics.. awesome stuff.. and the multiplayer mode is really excellent too.. nothing comes close.. =)
